Blog Title Inspiration

I've been actively working on my family's genealogy for close to 15 years.  When I started, though, I didn't have any children.  No one questioned it if I decided to stop at a cemetery, visit a war memorial, or spend hours sorting through unlabeled photos. If I wanted to drive several hours to stand in the middle of a field that once belonged to my ggg grandparents, so be it...

Now, however, I have a very sassy 9-year-old daughter who does not understand my preoccupation with this particular hobby.  She sighs dramatically if we pull into a cemetery and inquires,  "Are we going to look for Mom's dead people?"  If she wants to be truly infuriating, she will claim, "Mom loves her dead people more than me!"  Once, she even asked, as we parked in front of the Point Pleasant Battlefield Memorial if I was going to look for "dead people merch."

And so, I present to you, this blog about "my dead people."
